Deep chip on integrated shelf
Restored to factory-new condition
Residential Complex on Hazeltine Ave, Van Nuys
The client had a one-piece plastic unit that had failed significantly. The previous coating was peeling in sheets near the shower rod fixtures due to poor adhesion. Additionally, there were deep impact chips on the integrated soap shelf and small puncture holes in the tub floor causing potential leaks.
Replacement would have required demolition and cost over $7,000. Instead, we performed a full restoration in just 8 hours.
"I’m very happy with the result. The bathtub and walls were in really bad shape before... now everything looks completely new."
– Tim S., Client
See how we fixed the damage step-by-step
Severe peeling was visible near the shower rod. The old paint was coming off in large flakes because the surface wasn't prepped correctly by the previous contractor.
Small holes and chips like this can cause water leaks into the structure. We carefully drilled out the damage, filled it with reinforced compound, and sanded it perfectly flush.
This is the most critical step. We stripped the old paint and mechanically sanded the entire unit to a matte finish. This ensures the new coating bonds chemically and physically to the plastic.
A close-up of the final result. The tub is smooth, incredibly glossy, and durable. It looks and feels like a brand new factory unit, backed by our 5-year warranty.
