Project Overview

The Problem

The ceramic bathroom sink had a full-depth crack. The damage went completely through the material, causing water to leak from the bottom. Replacing the sink would have been time-consuming, expensive, and required additional demolition work.

Our Solution

The sink was fully prepared for acrylic refinishing. Special attention was given to the cracked area, which was carefully ground and structurally reinforced. We completely eliminated the water leak and finished with a high-durability acrylic coating.

"I thought I would need to replace the entire sink because of the crack and leak, but they were able to repair it... The leak is completely gone and the sink looks brand new."
– Mike L., Client

The Restoration Process

How we repaired the structural damage step-by-step

Crack in sink surface
01

Assessing the Crack

The sink featured a severe jagged crack running from the drain upwards. This wasn't just cosmetic; it was a structural failure allowing water to drip into the vanity cabinet below.

We ground out the crack to create a bonding surface. Then, we applied a high-strength professional repair compound (visible in black) to structurally weld the ceramic back together and permanently seal the leak.

Refinishing & Sealing

After the repair cured, we sanded it flush and applied our industrial-grade acrylic coating. The result is a smooth, glossy, and watertight surface that looks brand new, saving the owner ~$1,500 on replacement.
